UPCOMING WEBINAR: Network-wide traffic volumes within reach: Probe-based estimates with proven accuracy across Canada

UPCOMING WEBINAR: Network-wide traffic volumes within reach: Probe-based estimates with proven accuracy across Canada

Overview

Most agencies count only a fraction of their roads. Everywhere else, they rely on old counts, growth factors or best guesses, and those numbers still end up in safety screenings, capital plans and funding cases.

Probe data covers far more of the network than counts can practically reach. But that coverage only matters if the estimates hold up.

So we tested ours. Across nine provinces and eight years of Canadian data, our locally calibrated models reached an R² of 0.991 against counts they had never seen. In this webinar, we’ll go behind that number and show where accuracy held up and where it varied.

You’ll learn:

  • How our probe-based estimates performed across roadway types and volume ranges
  • How calibrating with local ground-truth counts improved accuracy
  • How ADT results compared against FHWA accuracy benchmarks, including on the lower-volume roads where count gaps are greatest
  • What to look for when evaluating probe-based volume estimates for your own network

lWho should attend:

  • Transportation planners
  • Traffic engineers
  • Modelers and data analysts
  • Transportation consultants
  • Agency staff responsible for planning, safety, reporting or funding

If your work depends on traffic volumes, join us to see how probe-based estimates perform and what to check before you rely on them for your network.
