Posted speed limit reductions are widely used to support Vision Zero initiatives, but their effectiveness can vary depending on roadway design and operating conditions. This joint TIRF / SMATS webinar will share insights from a joint multi-city Canadian study using connected vehicle data, highlighting how speeds change following reductions and providing a structured approach to evaluating where these strategies are most effective.
The session will also introduce a data-driven methodology for estimating collision risk, helping agencies take a more proactive approach to road safety management.
This research was made possible through the generous support of Transport Canada through the Enhanced Road Safety Transfer Payment Program (ERSTPP). Complete the form to view the webinar.
