Reducing truck wait times at Los Angeles port terminal gates

To tackle growing congestion and delays at Pier 300, Fenix Marine Services at the Port of Los Angeles implemented SMATS’ TrafficXHub sensors and iNode analytics platform. With five solar-powered sensors installed along terminal approach roads, Fenix gained real-time visibility into truck wait times for the first time. The system filtered out non-terminal traffic, identified queue buildups, and empowered staff to optimize gate operations. The live data enabled informed decision-making for operators and drivers, improved truck mobility, and supported more efficient cargo flow—strengthening Fenix’s digital-first, supply chain-focused terminal operations.
